| I’ve had a passion for design for as long as I can remember.
Drawing was one of my favorite past-times growing up and I honed my
skills in art classes in high school and college. I received my
Bachelor of Arts from Iowa State University with a double major in Art
& Design and Journalism/Mass Communications (Advertising emphasis).
Upon graduation, I dove into desktop publishing as the
Composition Manager of the Story County Advertiser in Ames, Iowa.
After
two and a half years, I followed my wife, Tammera, to Carroll, Iowa and
eventually was hired as the Production Manager of the Daily Times
Herald. There, I won the Iowa Newspaper Association’s Designer of
the Year (Small Class Daily Newspapers) three years in a row.
I started
J.Design LLC in January, 2005 and made it my focus when I left the
newspaper later in September, 2005.
Web design has became part of my design arsenal with nine
websites created and more in the works. If you need to build or
